A former Kalamazoo County commissioner is leaving politics behind to blaze a new trail in the business world.
John Taylor, 40, a Kalamazoo County Commissioner for 14 years, exited the world of politics when he unsuccessfully ran for county clerk in 2016. The same year the state passed a new law to allow for medical marijuana businesses.
He sees an opportunity in Michigan’s brand new marijuana industry, he said, and he has thought some of the draconian laws against cannabis were “a bit much.”
