Southfield-based Pharmaco Inc. and investment firm Rubicon Capital are looking to build a $45 million medical marijuana park in Pontiac at the old Glenwood Plaza.

The companies have submitted applications to the city to build a provisioning center, cultivation center and processing facility that would anchor 250,000-feet of grocery and shopping space on the 27-acre property. Pharmaco runs eight other licensed provisioning centers across the state, according to Vikas Patel, chief operating officer.

If approved the development would create between 300 to 400 jobs at 43 South Glenwood Ave., which has sat mostly vacant for several decades according to Rubicon. Pharmaco plans to hold a job fair with free training for Pontiac residents this month.
