Whether marijuana products sold in the state should have warning labels for pregnant or breastfeeding women was the subject of debate Thursday by the Senate Judiciary and Public Safety Committee.
Two bills before the committee for testimony, HB 4126 and HB 4127, would require all marijuana products sold in the state to contain the warnings, which supporters have said would notify women of potential long-term health risks.
Under the bills, provisioning centers and retailers would also have to have pamphlets available that contain safety information for marijuana related to its use by minors as well as a poison control hotline number. Both bills passed the House in September by near-unanimous votes.
