Robert Corder, vice president of attraction at Battle Creek Unlimited (BCU), said the company has plans for a multi-million dollar pot industry development project in Battle Creek.
BCU planned for the new development to span across 100 acres at Fort Custer Industrial Park.
The land developer, which has not yet been selected as of Jan. 23, will decide which types of cannabis shops will be built. Businesses that grow, test, sell, transport, and store weed are all possible options.
However, the park does not allow retail shops for any of the industries within it.
Corder said BCU has been talking with potential developers and hopes to select one by the end of the year.
“What we’re looking for is a developer that is going to take that land and serve as a master developer within the park and develop that property for cannabis use,” Corder said.
