FARMINGTON HILLS – Securatech CEO Rudy Patros will be one of the speakers Aug. 18 at the Benzinga Virtual Cannabis Conference. He will discuss how to build a cannabis business from the ground up.
Patros has been involved in the video security business for decades and got into protecting the medical marijuana business after it became legal in Michigan in 2017.
“To build a cannabis business, it starts with putting together a proper security plan,” Patros said. “Hiring the correct security integrator. Making sure whoever you hire is knowledgeable and tech savvy.”
Patros said video security needs to be on everything. But there’s more than just capturing the action in video.
“What else is needed? How to search the video, searching with ease. Is there a security guard who lets people in, Making sure they are properly trained. Do you hire a company to monitor your cameras, gates, access? You have to put a lot of thought into this. Very few new cannabis companies think about this in the beginning stages but it becomes crucial quickly.”
