With Connecticut’s hemp industry growing, Governor Ned Lamont signed a bill Tuesday to facilitate hemp production in the state. During the recent special session, legislators passed the House bill known as An Act Revising the State Hemp Program in Accordance with Federal Requirements.

The bill revises the state’s hemp production plan to comply with USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) regulations.

State agriculture officials and hemp production workers joined Lamont as he signed the bill at Lasa Extract, a CBD oil manufacturer in Suffield.

Along with the revised bill, Lamont said efforts are being made to help those in the hemp industry, particularly with hemp processing.
