An unusual discovery was made over the weekend by U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations officers during a search of a trash hauler at the Blue Water Bridge along the U.S.-Canada border.
The officers encountered the driver of a trash hauler around 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 crossing the bridge from Canada into Port Huron.
The driver told officers he was transporting municipal trash to a landfill in New Boston, located in Wayne County.
