The bill’s sponsor, state Rep. Pamela Hornberger, R-Chesterfield Township, said it will hold people who drive high accountable.

But St. Clair County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Steve Guilliat said the law might be difficult to enforce and the medical community has not reached a consensus on an appropriate limit for intoxication from marijuana.

What is the bill?

The bill would amend the Michigan vehicle code to make it a crime to drive a motor vehicle with five or more nanograms of THC per milliliter of blood, according to a press release from the Michigan House of Representatives.
