Lume Cannabis Co. and Citizen Yoga announced its “Yoga on the Lawn” event happening Saturday, July 24, from 9 – 11:30 a.m. at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston. Tickets are $15. The event is Lume’s first as exclusive cannabis partner of the DTE Energy Music Theater.
“The last 18 months have been hard for all of us. Many people emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic dealing with a newfound sense of loss, anxiety or depression and further exacerbated challenges facing those struggling with mental health,” said Doug Hellyar, president and COO of Lume. “We are proud to partner Citizen Yoga on this unique event to provide Metro Detroiters with a chance to reconnect with their community while raising money to help two unique organizations offering accessible mental and physical wellness support.”
Yoga on the Lawn will feature an outdoor yoga class led by Citizen Yoga founder Kacee Must, a live DJ set by MEHUŁ and a DIY CBD Coffee & Juice bar provided by Lume. Proceeds from the event benefit Common Ground Helps and Yoganic Flow, which are committed to offering accessible mental and physical wellness guidance to the Detroit and Oakland County communities.
Each ticket includes access to the outdoor yoga class, DJ set and Lume CBD Coffee & Juice bar. Attendees must bring their own yoga mats. Participants will also receive a Yoga on the Lawn t-shirt and Lume and CY swag bags. Lume is also offering free shuttles from Detroit to the event.
Kacee Must started Citizen Yoga to help establish alignment-based yoga as an avenue for handling the stresses of life, improving mental health and preventing suicide. A former TEDx Talk speaker, lead trainer of the 200-hour Citizen Yoga Teacher Training and accomplished instructor who has led classes of 100 to 2,000 people, she is most passionate about mental health as it relates to yoga philosophy and life.
“The past year and a half in isolation has been challenging for all of us, but especially for those who struggle with mental health issues and depend on socializing with others for support,” Must said. “I believe yoga can be an extremely powerful tool to help stay mentally grounded, which is why I look forward to leading my friends and the local community through a practice that has kept myself, and many others, balanced during difficult times such as these. I’m so excited to partner with Lume to bring a wellness-focused event to life.”
The DTE Energy Music Theater was named #1 in the top 100 amphitheaters in the world in 2019 and averages 50 live events featuring some of the most famous names in music each summer season. During Yoga on the Lawn, guests can explore Lume’s newly built 6,000 square-foot “Treehouse” lounge inside the venue’s West Entrance.
