The national Cannabis Regulators Association has selected Andrew Brisbo, Executive Director the the Michigan Marijuana Regulatory Agency, as its new president.

The nonprofit group’s board voted to promote Brisbo, who served last year as vice president, according to a Monday news release. Brisbo replaces Norman Birenbaum, founding president of the association and cannabis programs director under the New York governor’s office.

“Andrew has been a leading voice in the cannabis regulator community for years,” Birenbaum said in the release. “Andrew was integral in shaping CANNRA’s programing, priorities, and in building consensus among our members during the organization’s first year. There is no better person to lead the organization and continue its work moving forward.”
