JARS Cannabis is inviting Shiawassee County skiers and snowboarders to strap on their boots and gear up to hit the rails during the first annual JARS Rail Jam competition. Open with free admission to all participants and spectators aged 18 years and older, this outdoor event will boast a 90-foot course with three unique metal rail features for skiers and snowboarders to twist, turn, mount, and slide on while competing for the first-place cash prize of $1000.

“JARS strives to engage our community and customers by hosting experiential events that draw from a variety of interests and hobbies,” says JARS Cannabis Marketing Director, Stefanie Michels. “We’re grateful to be a part of a community that embraces cannabis and feel hopeful that this event will serve as a sign of the ongoing shift of public acceptance surrounding the cannabis plant.”

In celebration of the intersection of cannabis with extreme sports, JARS Cannabis has slated internationally renowned Ross Rebagliati, the 1998 Olympic snowboarder who was briefly stripped of his gold medal after testing positive for cannabis, to spectate the JARS Rail Jam competition as a guest judge.

“1998 was the beginning of a cannabis revolution that we are still at war with today,” explains Olympic snowboarder and outspoken cannabis advocate, Ross Rebagliati. “It’s no surprise that extreme sport athletes and cannabis use traditionally have gone hand-in-hand with one another, but the ‘JARS Rail Jam’ is a representation of the two finally being accepted and celebrated out in the open, together. I’m stoked to partner with JARS Cannabis to support this historical event.”

Co-sponsored by the official cannabis brand of Rick Wershe Jr., (aka “White Boy Rick”), “The 8th,” the JARS Rail Jam will also welcome Mr. Wershe as an event spectator and official spokesperson for his brand.

While the JARS Rail Jam is taking place outside, there will be JARS Cannabis budtenders available to chat and assist with purchases inside the JARS Owosso retail store (customers must be 18+ with MMMP license or 21+ with valid ID). Giveaways and brand sponsor promotions will be offered in-store at JARS Owosso on the day of the event as well.
