The dispensary being built at the former location for the ice cream shop, Mickey’s Dairy Twist, is closer to selling both medical and recreational marijuana following final site plan approval.
Saline City Council approved a special land use for an adult use marijuana retailer at 751 W. Michigan Ave with three conditions on Dec. 5.
These conditions involve the applicant confirming and providing some additional information along with taking down an existing nonconforming sign.
The space received final site plan approval with conditions for the sale of medical marijuana at Saline’s Nov. 9 planning commission meeting. Now, the dispensary needs to receive final site plan approval for recreational marijuana sales.
The spot that once held the well-known Saline ice cream shop plans to convert into a second location for Rush Cannabis which already has another dispensary in Hazel Park that opened in April.
Ben Harrington, Saline’s community development director, said that he anticipates the location will be able to sell recreational marijuana in the first quarter of 2023 assuming the location receives final site plan approval.
