Sheriff’s deputies over the weekend investigated five business burglaries, including marijuana dispensaries, as a rash of break-ins continue in West Michigan.
The burglaries happened at 4919 Town Center Drive SE in Cascade Township, where vape pens were stolen; 5450 Northland Drive NE in Plainfield Township, with cash and vape pens taken; 3700 Coit Ave. NE in Plainfield Township, where nothing was stolen, and cannabis dispensaries at 4116 17 Mile Road NE and 16 N. Main Street in Cedar Springs. Edible goods were taken from the 17 Mile Road dispensary but nothing was taken from the other store.
The Sheriff’s Department said that police in the area are working together to investigate a number of burglaries in West Michigan and are trying to determine if they are related.
Early Monday, Feb. 6, Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies arrested four burglary suspects who fled Funky Monkey Smoke Shop in Coopersville before crashing at the exit from I-96 to 16th Avenue during a police chase.
On Friday, a Grand Rapids police officer spotted two vehicles that had been stolen in Grandville. Grand Rapids police followed the vehicles to a residence where they arrested four suspects.
