The state of Missouri has recorded over $500 million in marijuana sales since it was fully legalized in February 2023.
Missouri recorded $121.2 million worth of sales in June, including a new record high for recreational marijuana sales.
About $3 million worth of marijuana has been sold on an average day in Missouri since it was legalized.
According to MoCannTrade, an association of business owners and experts in the field of cannabis in Missouri, over 16,000 “direct jobs” have been created as a result of the industry.
“Missouri’s low-adult use cannabis tax, customer-friendly access, and diverse supply of quality products continue to drive great sales across the state this summer,” said Andrew Mullins, MoCannTrade’s executive director, in a statement. “Local economies across our state are also benefitting from the more than 16,000 cannabis jobs directly created in Missouri so far.”
In May 2023, Missouri reached $1 billion in marijuana sales dating back to when medical marijuana was legalized.
If Missouri continues at the current pace, over $1 billion will be sold in the year 2023 alone.
