After a record breaking July, Michigan cannabis sales dropped slightly in August, by about $400,000. But the sales growth from 2022 was up nearly a third, and up by a similar number from July.
In terms of number, August sales totaled $276.3 million, compared with $276.7 million in July. If sales continue at this pace for the last four months of 2023 Michigan total sales for the year will easily eclipse $3 billion, the Cannabis Regulatory Agency reported.
Looking at sales by category, adult-use sales in August totaled $270.6 million, while Medical marijuana sales just $5.6 million. Top selling product for both categories was flower with combined sales of $84.4 million. Shake-Trim came in second at a collective $22.9 million.
In August the average price for a pound of flower stabilized around $1507, still down almost 20 percent from a year ago.
