Greenhouse of Walled Lake announced Friday that it is offering 50% off all products to active UAW members for the duration of the strike. Members also will receive one free container of Wana brand gummies, thought to be beneficial for sleep and stress relief.
“These are stressful times, and a tremendous number of our regular clientele are men and women who work for GM, Ford, and Stellantis,” Greenhouse owner Jerry Millen said in a statement. “This is our way of supporting these folks while they are out on strike.”
Greenhouse, at 103 East Walled Lake Drive in Walled Lake, was Oakland County’s first fully licensed medical and recreational marijuana dispensary.
It is known for its unique promotions, including past “Super Bowl specials” for customers who show up wearing a jersey of one of the competing NFL teams.
The auto workers’ union launched the historic strike late Thursday by targeting all three Detroit automakers at once after contract negotiations failed to land a new deal. UAW members walked off the job at three assembly plants in Michigan, Ohio, and Missouri.
