Michigan cannabis sales in September came in at $274.7 million, a half percent decline from peak sales of $276.7 million in July. But the good news is September cannabis sales were up nearly 30 percent from the same month a year ago, the Cannabis Regulatory Agency reported.
Looking more closely at the numbers, adult-use sales expanded to $269.8 million, up nearly 40 percent from the same month a year ago, while medical sales of $4.9 million were down by 70.5 percent from September 2022.
By product type, flower pricing for adult-use averaged $1602 per pound in September, ($126 million total sales) down by nearly 9 percent from a year ago. Vape cartridges in September posted $50.3 million, while inhalable compound concentrate sales equaled $27.7 million.
Michigan cannabis sales in the first nine months of 2023 are up nearly 36 percent compared to the first nine months of 2022. Yearly sales estimates remain on track to eclipse $3 billion.
