Two marijuana facilities were broken into early Monday, Jan. 8, sheriff’s deputies said.
The first incident was reported at 3:19 a.m. at Higher Breed, 77 E. Mainstreet, in Columbia Township. Van Buren County sheriff’s deputies reached the scene within 10 minutes and found that interior security devices prevented burglars from accessing rooms where marijuana products were kept.
Nothing was taken.
While sheriff’s deputies were responding to that call in Breedsville, Van Buren County Central Dispatch received an 3:39 a.m. alarm at Canna 43, on County Road 653 in Almena Township.

Three men entered the building and escaped with an undisclosed amount of marijuana products before police could reach the scene.
Police believe that the same three burglars were involved in both break-ins. They were wearing hoodies, hats, gloves and masks. They were driving a black, late-model Jeep Compass with an unidentified Michigan license plate.
