Mount Bohemia, Michigan, is back spinning the chairlifts after a slow start to the season, and you know what that means: free night skiing lift tickets every Thursday at Mount Bohemia with cannabis purchases from Lume dispensaries.
Okay, maybe you didn’t know that—it’s a unique arrangement, after all—so here’s the 411 from Bohemia.
Per the Instagram announcement—skiers can redeem a free Thursday night skiing ticket at Mount Bohemia if they’ve purchased 50$ or more from a Lume dispensary. Lume is a large Michigan-based dispensary with over 20 locations.
For all those who are 420-friendly—and were planning on picking up an ounce or two anyway from Lume—this is a screaming deal. While I’m not a big weed guy, I can see the appeal.
The deal also tracks with Mount Bohemia’s entertaining approach to ski resort marketing.
Earlier this season, the resort ran a contest where they offered $10,000 to whoever could get the most of their friends (or enemies) to sign up for a lifetime season pass. The contest produced a bit of a kerfuffle—people love to argue on Instagram, apparently—which led to POWDER contacting Mount Bohemia’s owner for a statement.
Said statement was probably my favorite piece of ski resort correspondence I’ve ever received:
“We are not sure of why there is even controversy over a 10,000 giveaway. At Bohemia, we empower our season passholders to be our soldiers in our war to get more customers. We see gaining passholders like an army sees gaining more territory. We are confident our empowered army of Bohemia passholders will continue to liberate more skiers looking for a lifetime of skiing at an amazing place.”
