Business partners that opened the first cannabis dispensary in Middleville are planning another store called The Gas Station, which is set to open in Wayland next month.
The Gas Station is set to open in June at 1124 W Superior St. near Reno Drive in Wayland, it said in a Monday release. It aims to cater to the area’s growing population, especially with the expansion at the Gun Lake Casino.
There are several partners involved in the project, who also have ownership in other businesses in the area, including Botanical Co. Middleville Dispensary.
“Our aim is to meet the demand while fostering relationships within the industry. As we expand to other states and anticipate federal legalization, we envision a global presence in the future,” partner Jarred Biggs said in the release.

Biggs, who has more than a decade of experience in the cannabis industry, said the construction of the $1.6 million project went smoothly.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the city of Wayland for granting us this opportunity to conduct business,” he said. “It holds personal significance for me, as my mother’s side of the family hails from Gun Lake, where they have been business owners for many years. Wayland’s growth is exciting, and we are delighted to contribute to its transformation.”
Other partners involved in the project include Dennis Weiss, Jonathan Jelks and Willie “Willie The Kid” Jackson.
