Ariel Porter works for True North Collective and Five Star Extracts as an extraction technician in the laboratory.
She Joined the company five years ago.
Jamie Cooper talked with Ariel about her experince in the cannabis industry and her thoughts on being honored by her peers.
On Being Honored
Arial emarked, “It’s cool. I never thought I’d get an award like this.”
Why the Recognition?
Arial has advanced during her time with True North.
Starting out as an entry level packaging position, she was promoted to management and, from there, moved into ethanol extraction and finally landed in hydrocarbon extraction — all within three years.
She summarizes it this way: “My hard work. People see the quality of our products that we put out and I help make them.”
Ariel’s Contributions to the Cannabis Community
Arial is proud of the work she is doing, as well as the work of the community, with a focus on “the quality product. We can finally end the stigma that people in the cannabis industry are just a bunch of stoners.” Aria added, “I am also very proud of all of the awards we have won as a team.”
Advice for Women Entering the Industry
“Go for it. Do the research. Try your best.”
Arial is also proud of her efforts to spread awareness to friends and family regarding the benefits of cannabis.
