July Michigan Legal cannabis sales increased by more than 4 percent from June, but down 4.5 percent from July 2024, a mixed bag that still leaves everyone wondering if the bottom has been reached on pricing.
Looking at the numbers, July adult-recreational sales totaled $274.17 million, and just $483,176 in medical sales. Combined total was $274.65 million. In June sales came in at $261 million, after $280 million in May.
In July, the average price of $997 per pound, rose sequentially by 0.3 percent from a record low and declined 21.8 percent from a year ago. The average retail price for an ounce of adult-use flower in July was $62.30, down nearly 30 percent from the average of $88 in July 2024. In July, 1,003 growers licenses of all types were active.
In July, dried cannabis flower led sales in July at $117.17 million, followed by vape cartridges at $50.16 million, inhalable compound concentrates at $45.19 million, shake/trim at $20.55 million, and infused edibles at $23.99 million.
Year-to-date sales for 2025 are now $1.9 billion, putting the state on track to pass the $2 billion mark in August.
The report from the Cannabis Industry Association shows 846 licensed adult-use retailers and 113 licensed medical provisioning centers. What’s more, 348 adult-use retailers and 62 medical centers were approved for home delivery.
