Lume Cannabis Co. announced in a press release it plans to acquire and operate former Gage Growth locations in Grand Rapids, Center Line and Morenci, showcasing the company’s continued growth and its fiscal stability in Michigan’s competitive cannabis market. The transactions are subject to closing conditions, including regulatory approval from the Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency.
The Gage Growth locations being acquired by Lume are:
- The Gage store in Grand Rapids, located at 3075 Peregrine Drive Northeast, giving Lume two locations in Grand Rapids.
- The Lemonnade store, located at 24729 Sherwood Ave. in Center Line, adding to Lume’s presence in metro Detroit.
- The Pinnacle Emporium at 850 East Main St. in Morenci, which expands Lume’s presence on Michigan’s border with Ohio.
Lume will begin overseeing operations to sell its safe, high-quality cannabis products as well as those made by other cannabis manufacturers. These stores will become official Lume retail locations when the company completes all licensing requirements and related paperwork. Lume is planning grand opening events when the name change happens.
“These acquisitions will allow Lume to serve even more of our loyal customers with the safe, high-quality products they expect from our top-notch cultivation team,” said Doug Hellyar, president and COO of Lume. “We are excited to continue growing our footprint in Michigan. These new locations allow us to expand our reach in key markets across Michigan.”
Lume also announced it will be offering employment opportunities to many of the Gage Growth workers who otherwise faced layoffs because of the closures.
“We are going to employ many of those who would have otherwise lost their jobs and we are creating new job opportunities for those in some markets through our investment and continued innovation,” Hellyar said.
When the new stores begin operating under the Lume banner, the company will have 42 stores across Michigan. Lume opened a second Traverse City location in June and moved the location of its Big Rapids store to 910 S. State St. in May.
Lume’s new locations will bring its wildly popular, high-quality cannabis-infused beverage, BUZZN, to even more areas of Michigan. Lume has sold more than 1 million cans of BUZZN, which is made with THC from cannabis and includes 7.5 mg of THC per can, since the company launched the drink in April 2024. Lume recently launched its seasonal, limited-release BUZZN flavor, Apple Cider, which is crafted with natural apple flavor and a smooth cannabis infusion.
Run by highly trained and experienced growers, Lume has developed products with consistent aromas, appearances and effects. Lume products are made without harmful chemicals and go through the most rigorous testing in the industry to ensure they meet the highest standards for quality and safety. Lume never uses radiation or ozone to remediate the company’s products.
Lume produces more than 20 strains of high-quality cannabis flower, lines of effect-based Lume Cartridges and Lume Gummies. It also offers its Gold Label Live Rosin line, superior solventless extracts meticulously crafted for cannabis connoisseurs free of chemicals and compounds.
