Craft Brewing Companies Push Back On Dewine’s Veto Impacting THC Beverage Sales

Mar 26, 2026 | Great Lakes Region

Ohio’s craft brewing industry continues to push back on a veto by Governor Mike DeWine that outlawed their sale of THC beverages, less than a week after an effort to challenge the governor’s ban came up short.

At Saucy Brew Works in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood, and at craft breweries across the state, THC beverages have become some of the best-selling craft products in Ohio. “You’re talking about an industry that’s approaching a thousand jobs and approaching $140 million of revenue. That is on a path growing faster than craft beer was, which means you’re talking tens of thousands of jobs and billions in revenue,” said Saucy Brew Works CEO and co-founder Brent Zimmerman.
