Ten hemp companies are suing Ohio over restrictions on products they say are protected under federal law.
A judge ruled on Monday that the group can keep operating and selling the hemp products challenged under the law, which took effect in March, while the case is being decided. “For our clients’ purposes, we’re thrilled with this decision,” said Nick Stack, a partner at Shumaker, Loop, & Kendrick.
The order only protects the 10 plaintiffs in the lawsuit, along with the distributors, retailers, carriers, and consumers of their products. Two of the 10 manufacturers suing the state are local: Urban Artifact and Greystone Brewing.
