Cannabis dispensaries will be allowed in Shaker Heights’ commercial districts under new regulations approved by city council that place limits on where they can open and when they can operate.
Council unanimously approved the regulations Monday. The rules require any proposed dispensary to receive city approval before opening and establish requirements involving location, security, building design and hours of operation.
Shaker Heights Planning Director Joyce Braverman said the local regulations will work alongside extensive rules already imposed by the state.
