Minnesota’s Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) says that there has been significant growth for the state’s cannabis market: $150 million in the sale of adult-use cannabis.
Since last year, when retail dispensaries became legal, Minnesota has seen over $250 million for both recreational and medical cannabis products.
Shelly Buchanan, the owner of Rochester’s only family-owned dispensary, has seen an increase in demand since legalization. The issue, she says, is that prices are higher because of the limited number of suppliers.
“Everything’s expensive right now because it’s brand new,” she says.
