The Cannabis Regulatory Agency is expanding the energy sustainability workgroup to include discussion and provide suggestions on waste, water, and air sustainability in the cannabis industry as it relates to the Michigan Regulation of Taxation of Marihuana Act and the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act. The expansion was initiated to ensure that other areas of sustainability – in addition to energy sustainability – were met within the current standing workgroup. Those selected will be split into subcommittees based on topic and will be expected to meet once monthly to create suggestions that will be presented at the CRA energy sustainability workgroup quarterly meeting.
Meetings for this workgroup will be held via Zoom. Term length will begin in July 2022 and is expected to not exceed twelve months.
Individuals interested in participating in the workgroup must send an email to CRA-Adult-Use-Marijuana@michigan.gov with “WORKGROUP” in the subject line – the body of the email must contain the following information:
- Your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number.
- Occupation or job title and the name of the employer or organization that you are affiliated with.
- A brief explanation (no more than 250 words) describing what energy sustainability means to you and the perspective you believe you can bring to this group. Please be specific to waste, water, or air sustainability. The energy portion of this workgroup is full at this time. Do not include attachments with your email.
The CRA will consider all email requests that meet these requirements, and any additional relevant information when establishing the workgroup. Requests and inquiries made via telephone or to other CRA contacts may not be accepted.
The deadline to email your request to participate in the workgroup is Friday, June 24, 2022, at 5:00pm. Selections for the workgroup will be announced by Tuesday, June 28, 2022. If you are chosen for the workgroup, you will be notified directly by the CRA with further details.
