Marijuana enthusiasts can discover new shops and explore Ann Arbor — while supporting a nonprofit — with a scavenger hunt benefiting expungement efforts in Michigan.
The Hash Bash Treasure Hunt will take participants through marijuana dispensaries across Ann Arbor, where they can collect special discounts, pre-rolls, edibles and other products.
Participants will receive a map of participating locations redeemable from Wednesday, March 29, through Monday, April 3. Hash Bash, an annual rally now in its 52nd year, will start at noon April 1.
The Monroe Street Fair takes place a couple blocks south of the UM Diag and features dozens of booths where cannabis enthusiasts can mingle with cannabis companies, non-profits that support cannabis and more.
The treasure hunt will raise money to benefit the Great Lakes Expungement Network, which works to expunge cannabis convictions in Michigan. The map, which costs $40, also includes a single-day ticket to the Hash Bash Cup, a vendor show occurring the same weekend. Once you buy the map, you can visit about a dozen Ann Arbor cannabis companies to get up to $200 in products and swag.

The organization sold roughly 240 maps at the event’s first iteration in 2022, garnering $7,000. This year, the nonprofit hopes to sell 500 maps and bring in $20,000.
