The good news is Michigan cannabis sales in January rose from January 2024, but fell from December 2024.
Looking at the numbers, January 2025 cannabis sales – including medical marijuana – totaled $247.3 million, up just under 2 percent from January 2024.
Medical sales fell by almost 72 percent to just $700,000, down 13.4 percent from December.
But when compared with December 2024, overall sales were down about 7 percent from the $264.7 million reported by the CRA last month.
Over supply continues to plague the Michigan cannabis market. In January, the CRA reported, the average price of a pound of cannabis fell 3.9 percent from December 2024 to just $1064. A year ago, pound prices were nearly 30 percent higher.
