The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation announced recreational cannabis sales totals for January 2025 were the highest since the Illinois cannabis market was legalized.
January 2025 sales reached $140,191,240.27, surpassing January 2024 totals by more than $6 million.
This follows setting an annual-sales record in 2024 of $1,722,755,856.37, which outpaced 2023 totals of $1,634,982,020.74.
Illinois dispensaries sold 3,958,808 cannabis items in January 2025. In-state resident sales totaled $111,503,991.71, and out-of-state resident sales totaled $28,687,248.56.
