October Cannabis Sales Leap By Nearly 7 Percent From September

Nov 12, 2025 | Feature, Great Lakes Region, Michigan

In September, marijuana sales in Michigan saw one of its largest month-over-month declines since the legalization of recreational sales in December 2019.

Now, according to recently released numbers from the Cannabis Regulatory Agency’s monthly reports, sales rebounded by 6.55 percent in October to $267.4 million from $250.9 million in September.

Part of the explanation for the sales increase could be the price of an ounce of recreational pot, which dropped by about 2 percent in October to $61.91 from $63.16 in September.

Also last month, the average price of a pound of pot was $991, a record low, and 16.3 percent less than October 2024.

But with overall sales increasing in October, alongside the decreased cost of cannabis, Michigan’s cannabis industry was reported as having the highest per capita marijuana sales rate of any state at $26.30 per capita for the month of September, according to a report by The Marijuana Herald.
