Dec 16, 2025 | Feature, Great Lakes Region, National

November adul-use cannabis sales in Michigan totaled $259.3 million, down about 6 percent from November 2024.

But even more notable is the average price for an ounce of flower fell to $59.79, an all time low.A year ago November, the average ounce sold for about $91, 35 percent more than November a year ago.

Since the Michigan Treasury will be implementing a 24 percent wholesale tax on cannabis Jan. 1, the average ounce of pot in 2026 will be close to what consumers paid in 2024.

The problem is oversupply for the past couple years has been driving down retail prices, great for consumers, not great for cannabis companies tryig to make a profit. Oversupply isn’t likely to change in 2026.

As of November 30, adult-use growers reported more than 221,800 pounds of tested flower sitting at grow facilities, another 166,400 pounds at retailers, and nearly 717,000 pounds at processors, alongside more than one million pounds of fresh frozen flower statewide.

Employment across Michigan’s cannabis industry also remained substantial, with 41,468 workers reported under the state’s medical and adult-use laws as of the end of November, an increase of around 100 from the previous month.

Michigan’s marijuana market continued to show remarkable resilience in November, with combined medical and adult-use sales pushing year-to-date totals to nearly $3 billion, according to the state’s latest monthly report.
