A Michigan State University researcher is calling for federal policy changes to allow more realistic cannabis research as Michigan’s marijuana market continues to grow.
Michigan voters approved an initiative to legal recreational marijuana use for adults age 21 and older in 2018. Since then, marijuana has bloomed into a multi-billion-dollar market across the state.
However, the federal government still classifies recreational marijuana as an illegal narcotic. State-licensed medical marijuana was legalized at the federal level this year.
