Four years after taking over supervision of Michigan’s hemp industry, state regulators issued the first-ever license suspension.
The state Cannabis Regulatory Agency, which oversees marijuana and hemp, suspended with intent to revoke the hemp processor-handler license held by Lansing-based Loud Labs, which also possessed a marijuana processing license under the name Pyramid Pens. The marijuana license expired in July, according to online CRA data.
Additionally, Loud Labs operates marijuana businesses in Colorado and New Jersey.
Last October, the CRA notified hemp businesses that it planned to increase enforcement efforts, according to Cassin Coleman, a board member of iHemp Michigan, a hemp industry trade group.
