Perpetually stuck in medical-only, Pennsylvania won’t legalize adult-use cannabis – and unlock one of the top markets still eluding the national marijuana industry – until there’s a political changeover in Harrisburg, top Democratic elected officials said last week.
After passing the Democratic-led state House on the insistence of Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro, Pennsylvania cannabis legalization remains bottled up in the Republican-controlled Senate.
That likely won’t change until voters hand over control of the top chamber to Democrats, lawmakers said at a Philadelphia summit, according to WHYY.
