Hamtramck, a multicultural community with a large Muslim population encapsulated by Detroit, woke up one day last week to find a never-before-mentioned marijuana business in town.

There was no ribbon-cutting, never a footnote at a City Council meeting. Some believe that was by design.

Now a second rumored recreational marijuana business is knocking at the city’s door with some residents expressing opposition.
