Christian Perine has had a license with the State of Michigan to open a cannabis consumption lounge for a year. She has a business plan with revenue projections, retail partners lined up to sell cannabis products at her lounge, a website and business cards.
But she’s still missing two key components to getting her lounge, called Blew Amsterdam, up and running: a space to open the consumption lounge and a recreational license from the City of Detroit.
Perine was about to sign a lease for a space last week, but after hearing that Detroit could face another lawsuit over its ordinance, she said she couldn’t move forward until she had more information on when the processing of those applications would start.
The City of Detroit is set to open the online application process for unlimited recreational marijuana licenses Wednesday. Those include licenses for processors, grow operations, safety compliance labs and more.
